Allied Petroleum, part of the HWR Group, is the exclusive distributor of Mobil lubricants in New Zealand. With a strong presence across automotive, commercial and industrial markets, the business continues to grow both locally and into Australia.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to manage and expand our Trade & Reseller customer base across New Zealand.

About the role

This is a hands-on, field-based sales role focused on account management and new business development within the trade and automotive sectors.

You will manage an existing portfolio while identifying opportunities to grow market share across resellers, workshops, fleet operators and dealerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow key accounts across trade and reseller channels
  • Drive new business development and expand your territory
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Deliver solution-based sales across lubricants and related products
  • Monitor market trends and contribute to sales forecasting
  • Work closely with internal teams to support customer outcomes

Skills & experience

  • Proven experience in business development / sales / account management
  • Background in lubricants, automotive, transport or industrial sectors
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
