Business Development Manager - Lubricants

Allied Petroleum, part of the HWR Group, is the sole importer and distributor of Mobil lubricants in New Zealand. With a strong reputation built on technical expertise and genuine customer relationships, the business continues to grow across both New Zealand and Australia.

We're looking for someone to take ownership of the South Island strengthening existing partnerships while identifying new opportunities across industrial, commercial and passenger markets.

What your day-to-day might look like:
You'll spend your time out in the field, working closely with customers from fleet operators and transport providers to dealerships and industrial clients. It's about understanding how they operate, identifying where you can add value, and delivering solutions that genuinely make a difference.

You'll also play a key role in shaping growth, using your understanding of the market to forecast demand, spot opportunities and drive new business, all while managing and developing your existing accounts.

What will set you up for success:

  • Experience in lubricants, oil, or a closely aligned industry
  • Strong commercial instinct and a natural ability to build trust
  • A hands-on approach someone who enjoys being out with customers
  • Confidence working autonomously, while staying connected to the wider team

This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership. You'll have the autonomy to manage your territory, backed by a business that supports you with the tools, brand and team to succeed.

Based in Christchurch (or elsewhere in the South Island), you'll cover the wider region, with regular travel as part of the role.
