Customer Service & Weighbridge Operator

Looking for a role where no two days are the same?
Allied Materials, part of Southern Transport and the wider HW Richardson Group, is seeking a motivated and adaptable team member to join our busy Invercargill yard. This is a varied, hands-on position combining customer service, administration, and operational support.
- Competitive hourly rates
- Full-time hours:
- Monday to Friday, 7:15am - 5:15pm
- Saturday, 7:45am - 1:15pm
- Uniform provided
- A stable role within a well-established and respected group
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our customers, you'll play a key role in delivering a seamless experience, whether they're picking up materials for a home project or managing larger commercial orders.
Your day will include:
- Welcoming and assisting customers on-site and over the phone
- Operating the weighbridge and processing transactions
- Responding to website and email enquiries
- Coordinating and planning daily deliveries
- Ordering products and maintaining accurate records
- Updating website content and managing communications
- Supporting yard operations, including stocking and general upkeep
What We're Looking For
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of people
- Clear and confident communication, with a focus on understanding customer needs
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities throughout the day
- A proactive, self-starting attitude
- Good attention to detail and administration skills
- Comfort working both behind a desk and out in the yard
A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
