About the role

As a Light Maintenance Patrol (LMP) operator, you'll work as part of SouthRoads Otago's Dunedin City Council Maintenance Division. This role focuses on the routine and reactive work that keeps the roading network safe, accessible, clean, and well-maintained.

Your work will include regular network inspections and responding to Requests for Service from the public and the Engineer. It's practical, varied work where no two days are the same, and where the quality of your effort directly impacts the community.

You don't need to know everything on day one. what matters most is your attitude.

Ideally, you will:

  • Be committed to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Have experience in maintenance or civil work (preferred, but not essential, full training is provided)
  • Hold a Class 2 driver licence
  • Take pride in looking after plant and machinery
  • Be tidy, self-motivated, energetic, and a clear communicator
  • Be comfortable working both in a team and independently

Above all, we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a practical mindset, and a genuine willingness to get stuck in and deliver quality work safely.
