Allied Concrete is a business within the HW Richardson Group (HWR). The business is a leading supplier of ready mixed concrete to the construction industry. In the North Island, Allied Concrete is made up of 32 concrete plants ranging from 50+ truck plants down to smaller 3 to 4 truck operations.

This role reports to the H&S Manager - Concrete and you will be an integral member of the National Health & Safety team. Travelling to our sites throughout the North Island, the Health & Safety Advisor role is dedicated to the following key accountability areas:

  • Health, Safety & Management - Policies, Practices & Processes
  • Incident Management- Lead Investigator & Coaching and Support
  • Risk Management - Applying Risk Management Processes
  • Culture Champion - Driving Safety Leadership Values through the business
  • Project Management - Critical Risks, Culture & Systems Development
  • Audits & Standards - ACE Audit, ACC Partnership Compliance Processes & Internal Auditing
  • Information & Systems Management - IT, Document Control, Risk Software Reporting & Analysis
  • Establishing Relationships - Internal staff, supply partners, regulators & contractors

The role requires a person passionate about health and safety who is focused on raising and achieving standards, and with great people and relationship management skills. Experience in a related industry within the HWR Group of companies (transport, construction, manufacturing or engineering) would be advantageous but is not essential. You will have exposure to risk safety systems and management and projects in a best practice and continuous improvement environment.

A qualification relevant to health and safety & experience in coaching people to achieve improved performance will be essential.
