About the company
The Invercargill inner-city redevelopment, Invercargill Central, is a visionary project that will bring life and vitality to the Central Business District. Invercargill Central Ltd is a company with the shareholders: the O'Donnell family, Invercargill City Council, Geoff Thomson and the Provincial Growth Fund. This project will be the home of major retailers, offices and apartments.
This is a critical project for Invercargill and requires an authentic leader with exceptional relationship management and communication skills to take on the new challenge of Centre Manager for Invercargill Central.

About the opportunity
Reporting directly to the Board Chair, the Centre Manager is essential and accountable for the optimal performance of Invercargill Central. The Centre Manager will work closely with the Board to ensure they are informed on the operational and financial performance of the Centre, as well as play an integral role in annual business planning. This new leadership opportunity means that the Centre Manager will also be responsible for recruiting and growing a high performing team.
In doing this, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership across all staff, retailers and tenants at Invercargill Central
- Develop new and existing key stakeholder relationships
- Oversee and regularly review operational business models to ensure they are fit for purpose and support a sustainable future
- Provide expert advice to the Board and retailers to enhance business performance
- Develop and lead business planning.
To be successful in the Centre Manager role, you will be commercially astute and strategically minded. You will be experienced in strategic business planning and confident in presenting recommendations to the Board.
Your strong attention to detail coupled with your ability to assess environments through multi-facet lenses means that you are able to identify ways to enhance internal and external stakeholders' experience at Invercargill Central and, in turn, maximise returns.
Your natural leadership style means that you can positively influence change with ease in order to enhance business performance. You will confidently build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, effectively communicating the vision for the Centre.
