We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our HWR Contracting and SouthRoads team.

We are looking for the right person to provide a major supporting role to the Financial Controller and to be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and monitoring the financial performance of businesses assigned to the role. But there is more to it than your average accounting role -

In this role you will have a suitable accounting qualification - and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a management accounting role in a comparable, business/industry. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite, as you will have regular contact with senior management, operational management, administration, and staff.

In addition, you will:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Undertake the management of a wide variety of projects
  • Provide ad hoc reporting to the Financial Controller
  • Act in a leadership role across the organisation
  • Facilitate training and review training programmes
  • Review business processes for improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to financial systems and process development
  • Some preparation of end of year financial reports

You will be skilled (to an advanced level) with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word. Previous experience with Greentree financials software, or a similar ERP system, would also be advantageous, however full training will be given to the successful applicant.
