We are Metalman - owned by HW Richardson Group, the largest family-owned transport business in NZ proudly based in Southland and operating throughout New Zealand and Australia. The Group currently operates in Ready Mixed Concrete, Transport, Fuel Distribution, Lubricants, Contracting and Environmental sectors. Metalman is under the Environmental banner - processing and recycling ferrous and non-ferrous metals predominantly to the export market.

The Roles

Based in Te Rapa,( Hamilton) we're looking for a new team member who is physically fit and keen to work. You'll be sorting and processing metals, helping out around the yard and keeping things moving, and getting out in the truck collecting and delivering metals. We offer full-time, permanent roles working 40 hours per week plus rostered Saturdays, as well as a competitive wage - paid weekly!

What do you bring to the job?

  • You'll need a current, full driver's licence with a minimum Class 2 endorsement, and a clean driving record
  • You're physically fit and keen to work
  • You're punctual and reliable with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, and you want to make sure things are done safely.
  • You take pride in your appearance and you enjoy working with the public where your excellent customer services skills provide efficient, professional and friendly service

It's helpful (but not essential) if you've had previous scrap metal experience. Additional licences such as Forklift licence, DG licence and WTR endorsement are also useful but not essential.

Full training is given to the successful candidates including attainment of licences as needed.
